Kevin B. Kynerd
co-founder
Kevin B. Kynerd is the founder of 30A Investment Partners. The company was established in 2012 to create a vehicle for investing in, and operating companies that focus on real estate development, software platforms and emerging restaurant concepts. The company has established a solid reputation by continually creating value and returns for its partners and investors.
In addition to his role in 30A Investment Partners, he is also the President and Chief Executive Officer of Bradford Building Company, Inc., a Birmingham, Alabama based general contractor. He is primarily responsible for business development and corporate administrative functions for the company, whose revenues were $55.6 million in 2017. Bradford Building Company, Inc. is currently involved in retail, restaurant, health care, institutional, light industrial, and office construction.
A 1989 graduate of Samford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Kevin also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Samford University in 1991. In 2009, Kevin earned the LEED Green Associate credential from the Green Building Certification Institute. He began his 25-year construction industry career with BE&K Construction Company in Birmingham, serving as a project cost engineer.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Kevin is, or has been, involved in various professional, civic and charitable activities including Young Presidents’ Organization, Progress Bank Board of Directors, Restoration Academy Board of Directors, 30A.com Board of Directors, Samford University Athletic Executive Committee, Kidz First Fund Board of Directors, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Associated Builders and Contractors Legislative Committee, Birmingham Kiwanis Club, The Monday Morning Quarterback Club and the Compass Bank Young Executive Board. In 2004, Kevin was selected Top 40 Under 40 by the Birmingham Business Journal. Kevin is currently the chairman of the Jay D. Kynerd Charitable Fund.
Kevin and his wife Meredith have two children and reside in Rosemary Beach, Florida and Birmingham, Alabama.
Travis A. Meyer

Travis is President of 30A Investment Partners, LLC, a holding company that develops, invests in, and manages a diverse portfolio of companies across different industries. At the core of our portfolio is real estate. Through our wholly-owned subsidiary, Southeastern Retail Development, we have developed and invested in retail projects totaling more than 500,000 square feet and over $100,000,000 in market value. We also have a passion for operating companies. Currently our portfolio includes: Jack Browns Joint, a multi-unit burger joint with a passion for craft beer; Billy Jacks Shack, Rustic-chic joint serving beef, bacon, beer and bird; Key Data Dashboard, a software company that provides anonymized comparative views of industry competitive datasets for the vacation rental management industry; The 30A Company, a lifestyle brand with retail, digital, and licensing platforms and a mission to make people happy; CommerceOne Bank, an Alabama based banking institution; NXTsoft, the market leader in secure, comprehensive and complete workflow API connecting Fintechs with banks; Landing, a membership platform providing flexible leases and ready to live apartments nationwide; Retina-AI, on-site diabetic retinopathy screening that is immediate and fully automated; and several other minority investments. Recent exits include Glad to Have You, a digital app and reservation management system for the vacation rental industry, which was sold to HomeAway, Inc. (NASDAQ: AWAY) in 2014 and Shipt, an internet-based grocery delivery service which was sold to Target Corporation (NYSE: TGT) in 2017.
Travis’ current focus is on leading and managing Southeastern Retail Development, a development company specializing in the development of retail properties for growing regional and national tenants, with offices in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, and New Orleans, LA. Travis is a results oriented, driven leader, with 15+ years of real estate experience and an extensive background in finance, investing, and management. Before building 30A Investment Partners, LLC, Travis worked in various roles for a leading private equity firm with $225mm+ in assets under management. These roles included participation in numerous debt and equity transactions totaling in excess of $50 million and Vice President of Operations for a portfolio company of the private equity fund. Previously, Travis worked as the Vice President of Investments and a Development Associate for a boutique retail and mixed-use development company, overseeing the development of various company properties. Travis is passionate about generating exceptional results for the company’s partners and clients.
Travis is, or has been, involved in various professional, civic and charitable activities including Young President’s Organization, CommerceOne Bank Board of Directors, KeyData Dashboard Board of Directors, The 30A Company Board of Directors, The Sonder Project Board of Directors, The National Outdoor Leadership School, The Coastal Conservation Association, and the CCIM Institute.
Travis is a graduate of Tulane University and resides in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida with his wife Rachel and their three children, Maggie Mae, Avery, and Simms.
John Quinn
Since 2015, John has served as Chief Financial Officer of 30A Investment Partners. His primary role is financial oversight of 30A’s various companies and ventures. John provides monthly reporting and forecasting on the various business the company owns or is involved in as well as analyzes industries and markets for potential investment opportunities. John is also responsible for managing and developing the company’s relationships with debt and equity partners.
A native of Memphis, TN, John Quinn made his way to Birmingham, AL by way of a golf scholarship to Birmingham Southern College. He graduated with a major in accounting and a minor in business and went to work as an Associate at Dixon Hughes Goodman. While at Dixon Hughes, he performed financial statement audits and reviews for privately-held companies and prepared tax returns for companies and individuals. John’s experience at Dixon Hughes allowed him to study successful businesses and their best practices for internal controls that allowed them to run efficiently.
In 2010, John went to work as a Controller for a real estate developer. While there he was responsible for managing the accounting department and overseeing both the property management and development division. He oversaw the accounting process from due diligence to acquisition and ultimately disposition, while providing reports and actionable information to the principals along the way.
John enjoys the variety of the investments that 30A is involved in and the people associated with each company. John is passionate about playing golf and spending time with his family. He lives in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife and their three children.
SCOTT MCLEOD
As a member of 30A Investment Partners, Scott serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Key Data Dashboard, a technology company that provides business intelligence and benchmarking tools for the vacation rental management industry. Additionally, he is responsible for investment research and analysis, mapping and data analysis for Southeastern Retail Development and site selection for the company’s restaurant concepts, Jack Browns Joint and Billy Jacks Shack.
Scott began his career with 30A Investment Partners in 2014 as Director of Operations for The 30A Company, a beach lifestyle brand with retail, digital and licensing platforms. He was instrumental in the company’s growth and expansion into an international brand with multiple retail locations, licensed beer and wine that is sold across the southeast and an online store with sales in all 50 states.
Scott is also a partner with Flashpacker Connect, an international adventure travel company that focuses on customized trips to remote corners of the world. With years of experience as a fishing guide in Alaska, Colorado and Mexico, Scott enjoys fishing with his fellow colleagues and traveling around the world. He is a graduate of Furman University and lives in Santa Rosa Beach, FL.
